Hello There!

I’m David, a MiddleTennessee landscape and wildlife photographer, storyteller, and freelance shooter for Jackson Kayak.

I grew up chasing sunrises in the Everglades while fishing with my parents, and camping under Big Cypress's endless stars. Sixteen years ago I picked up a camera, and I’ve never put it down. For me, photography isn’t about freezing a pretty scene. It’s about telling the story that’s already unfolding: the quiet strength of a river otter, the way light moves through old-growth forest, the fragile balance we’re all part of.

Today I’m usually on a river bend, ridge line, or waterfall, documenting landscapes and wildlife across the Southeast and beyond. My work with Jackson Kayak keeps me on the water, shooting mostly on Center Hill Lake near Smithville and Sparta, Tennessee. Everything I do is rooted in conservation. I’ve watched my favorite places change or disappear, and that drives me to create images that do more than look good on a wall. I want them to start conversations, stir wonder, feel like you're there along side me, and remind us what’s worth protecting.
